Dr. Bekeris completed his undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston and attended the United States Air Force Test Pilot School at Edwards Air Force Base. He later pursued medicine and postgraduate training at Western University in London, Ontario.
With 42 years of service in the Royal Canadian Air Force, Dr. Bekeris has a diverse background in aerospace engineering, flight test engineering, and both general and aviation medicine.
His medical expertise spans outpatient general medicine, aviation medicine, emergency medicine, hospitalist care, occupational medicine, and travel medicine. He also serves as a medical consultant in aviation medicine for Transport Canada, Civil Aviation Medicine.
Dr. Bekeris has held several leadership roles, including Senior Medical Officer at an Air Force Wing, Canadian Field Hospital, Medical Director of Air Canada, and past president of the Airline Medical Directors Association.
